HOW DO I APPLY FOR HOUSING?

1. To receive an Application for Housing form, call Vesna Saric at (604)-525-3288, Extension 1, weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. An application will be sent to you in the mail or you may visit our offices at #112-7210 Mary Avenue, Burnaby, BC V5E 3K4.

2. Once you have completed the application form, please return it by mail, together with proof of income to the above address.

3. Upon receipt of your application and proof of income, an appointment may be scheduled for a personal interview.

WHEN WILL I BE OFFERED AN APARTMENT?

Housing is offered based on a variety of criteria, so it is impossible to predict how quickly an apartment will become available. Availability is based on the number of suite turnovers and the needs of the applicants applying for housing.

HOW MUCH WILL I PAY?

The New Vista Society operates rent-geared-to-income units. The amount of rent you will pay is determined by the source of your income, the amount of your income and the size of your family. Rent will not exceed 30% of your gross monthly income.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGES?

Security Deposit

This deposit (equal to 1/2 of the full rent on your unit) will be held by the New Vista Society and will be returned when your tenancy ends, if there has been no damage to the unit.

Other Charges

Other charges may include cablevision, laundry, parking and utilities depending on the building.
