The New Vista Society was founded in 1943 by Ernest Winch, a Burnaby MLA from 1933 to 1957. Mr. Winch was one of the founders of the CCF (precursor to today’s NDP) and was a tireless advocate for social welfare reforms and for addressing the problems of the aged.

Over the years, as the demographics and needs of our surrounding community have changed, so has the focus of the Society. Today, New Vista provides important support and housing for seniors, and we have developed a reputation as a progressive and innovative leader in the field of seniors’ care.
