New Vista values its volunteers who enhance the services of our staff.
Volunteers help to reduce loneliness, boredom and helplessness. Volunteers add energy and fun to the lives of our residents, clients and tenants.

Our volunteers come in a variety ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. They share a common concern for elders. They are patient, caring and kind. They are enthusiastic, but also responsible, reliable and trustworthy. They display a sense of humour with a willingness to learn.

If you share these traits, we invite you to join the New Vista Volunteers.
For our volunteer screening process we require you to fill out an application form including two references, complete an interview, sign an Oath of Confidentiality, attend an orientation session and complete a criminal record search with the police in your community or the Ministry of Public Safety.

We ask for a minimum 40-hour commitment from our volunteers and a minimum six-month commitment from our computer and boutique volunteers.

Please register to attend a volunteer orientation by phoning or emailing Margaret Hansen, the Campus Coordinator of Volunteers at 604-527-6000 local 285 or margareth@newvista.bc.ca
